1. The service
Paprclipr is a platform that helps people list items, discover nearby offers, match, chat, and arrange item-for-item barter trades. Paprclipr is not a party to trades between users and does not take custody of items or process payments for swaps.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Paprclipr. If you are under the age of majority where you live (19 in Alberta), you may use Paprclipr only with the consent of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. You are responsible for compliance with local laws when listing, trading, or meeting.
3. Accounts
- Provide accurate account information and keep it updated
- Keep your login credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account
- One person/entity per account unless we expressly allow otherwise
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk
4. Barter-only marketplace
Paprclipr is designed for non-cash item trades. You agree not to use the platform primarily as a cash marketplace, payment broker, or escrow service. Optional paid features (if offered later) are separate from the value exchanged in a barter trade.
5. Subscriptions
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Subscriptions are non-refundable; cancellation prevents renewal. If your account is suspended or removed for violating these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund for any unused subscription time. Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple, so to stop future charges, cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit (photos, text, messages). You grant Paprclipr a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the service. You represent you have the rights to the content you post and that it does not infringe others’ rights.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post illegal, stolen, counterfeit, hazardous, or recalled items
- List weapons, drugs, adult sexual content, or other prohibited categories we publish
- Harass, threaten, defraud, or exploit other users
- Reverse engineer or disrupt the service or its security
- You may not use bots, scrapers, crawlers, or other automated means to access Paprclipr, or collect, harvest, or extract data about other users or listings (including photos and profile information), except through features we provide or with our prior written permission.
- Create fake accounts, manipulate likes/matches/reviews, or spam
- Use Paprclipr to facilitate money laundering or other unlawful activity
- Upload malware or attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
8. Meetups & risk
Users arrange handoffs themselves. Exercise caution: meet in public places, tell a friend, verify items before completing a trade, and trust your instincts. In an emergency, call 911. Paprclipr does not guarantee item condition, user identity, or trade outcomes.
Trades are confirmed in person by scanning a secure QR code in the app. This confirmation validates the trade, so only completed swaps can be reviewed, which helps keep reviews true and authentic. QR confirmation does not verify item condition or user identity.
Off-platform interactions. Any interaction you have with another user outside Paprclipr, whether in person, by phone, text, email, social media, or any other app or service, is solely between you and that user. Paprclipr does not monitor, control, or take responsibility for off-platform communications, meetups, or transactions, and to the maximum extent permitted by law is not liable for any loss, harm, or dispute arising from them. For your safety, we recommend keeping conversations in the in-app chat, where you can report and block users.
9. Moderation
Paprclipr has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. This includes content or behaviour that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, threatening, or otherwise breaks section 7. You can report any item and block any user from inside the app. We review reports within 24 hours, and we remove offending content and suspend or ban the accounts responsible. A blocked user can no longer contact you, and their listings are hidden from you.
10. Intellectual property
The Paprclipr name, logo, app, website design, and related branding are our property (or our licensors’). You may not use them without permission except as needed to use the service.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PAPRCLIPR AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR ITEMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR TRADES WITH OTHER USERS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.
13. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Paprclipr against claims arising from your content, your trades, your meetups, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
14. Changes & termination
We may update these Terms and the service over time. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. You may stop using Paprclipr at any time. We may discontinue features or the service with reasonable notice when practical.
We may suspend or remove any account that abuses any feature of Paprclipr, including submitting false or bad-faith reports. When you delete your account, your profile, listings, photos, and messages are removed from the app right away. We keep a limited, access-restricted record (your account ID, email or phone number, login and IP logs, and records of completed trades) for 90 days, to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and respond to lawful requests, after which it is permanently deleted. If an account was reported or banned, we may keep that record and related reports for up to 2 years to keep the community safe and prevent banned users from rejoining. If we receive a valid legal request or are otherwise required by law, we may keep specific data until the matter is resolved.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections where you live provide otherwise.
